Frequently Asked Questions

General Business & Booking

Q: How far in advance should I book a session?
A: Most clients book 2–3 months in advance, especially for newborn and maternity sessions. Availability is limited, so early booking ensures your preferred date.

Q: How do I reserve my session?
A: A signed contract and payment is required to secure your date on my calendar.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
A: I accept credit card, debit card, Venmo, and cash. Payment plans may be available upon request.

Session Details

Q: How long does a typical session last?
A: Newborn sessions usually last 2–3 hours, while family or maternity sessions run about 1–1.5 hours. Minis and commercial headshots are shorter.

Q: Where do sessions take place?
A: Newborn and milestone sessions are in my Taunton, MN studio. Family, maternity, and senior sessions can be in-studio or on-location (outdoor or lifestyle).

Q: What should we wear?
A: I’ll provide a style guide with outfit suggestions and color palettes. For newborn sessions, I supply wraps, props, and outfits.

Newborn & Safety

Q: When is the best time to schedule a newborn session?
A: The ideal window is within 5–15 days after birth, when babies are still very sleepy and flexible. Although we can still get beautiful images of older newborns.

Q: Do you have training in newborn safety?
A: Yes—I’ve trained for 17 years under Ana Brandt and hold a newborn safety certification. Every pose is done safely, with baby’s comfort first.

After the Session

Q: How long until we receive our photos?
A: Sneak peeks are delivered within a few days. Full galleries are ready in 3-4 weeks.

Q: How many images are included?
A: It depends on the package you choose. Collections include digital images, USB delivery, social media assets, and optional prints/wall art.

Q: Do you offer printed products?
A: Yes! I offer professional-quality albums, framed prints, wall art, and keepsakes to turn your images into heirlooms.

Other Common Questions

Q: What happens if the weather is bad for an outdoor session?
A: We’ll reschedule for the next available date or move the session into the studio.

Q: Can I bring extended family?
A: Absolutely! Depending on the package/session, just let me know ahead of time so I can plan poses and time accordingly, as well as invoice for additional people.

Q: Do you travel for sessions?
A: Yes—I serve clients across Lincoln County, Marshall, Sioux Falls, and beyond. Travel fees may apply outside my local area.
